Plenum Assemblies
Plenum cable is run in the plenum spaces of buildings. In building construction, the plenum (pronounced PLEH-nuhm) is the space that is used for air circulation in heating and air conditioning systems, typically between the structural ceiling and the suspended ceiling or under a raised floor. Plenum cable is jacketed with a fire retardant jacket of low-smoke fluorinated ethylene polymer (FEP). Plenum cable must meet two requirements to meet most fire codes:
Plenum cable must not burn easily
Plenum cable must not emit toxic fumes when exposed to extreme heat
We use CL2P rated cable that meets both requirements.
